Non-native speech is harder to understand than a native
speech so they are less preferred to listen. Two problems arises for non native
speakers for their accent, one is the accent serves as the signal and the other
is that accent makes the speech harder to process. When the foreign accent acts
as a signal, it is prejudice. Accent is one main cause that everyone proposes
that people believe non-native speakers less simply because they are harder to
understand.
